About ALMA

Founded by mother-and-daughter duo Teresa Burge and Monica "Mo" Burge, ALMA is here to help people survive, learn, and eventually contribute their own greatness to the world. ALMA encourages all to "Be Free as Far as Your Mind Can See."

This organization is dedicated to the memory of Alma L. Montgomery, who passed away from Alzheimer's disease in 2011. Her family wanted a way to honor her memory as well as provide resources to help others dealing with the challenges of life and who are in need of support, training, or education. ALMA serves marginalized populations that typically "fall through the cracks" of traditional social service organizations. Contact us to learn more about ALMA and our programs.

Our Mission

The mission of ALMA is to improve the quality of life in the Northwest Georgia area by providing free hands-on skill development, mentorship, support, and counseling to stimulate, motivate, mature, and encourage others through education, training, and development. ALMA also helps individuals develop tools to improve their quality of life and others through community development, entrepreneurship, mental and physical wellness, and fiscal responsibility. ALMA also provides support for caregivers of those who suffer from Alzheimer's disease. ALMA is a 501(c) 3 organization that is able to provide these programs due to the generous support of our community. Donations are appreciated and tax deductible.
